It’s important to know that in the State of Oklahoma no one is above punishment for crossing that blurry line between education and collegiate sports.
Cooper Barton, a 5-year-old student in Oklahoma City wore a University of Michigan football t-shirt to school, but was told by officials at Wilson Elementary that it violated the district’s dress code and was asked to turn it inside out.
The kindergartner’s mother was predictable not thrilled about the incident. “They should really worry about academics. It wasn’t offensive. He’s 5,” Cooper’s mother Shannon Barton told News9.com.
Barton has also called for changes in the district’s dress code, to which they are currently reviewing.
The district says the dress code was created in 2005 with the help of an Anti-Gang Task Force.
Meanwhile, in other news, in an attempt to reach young children in other countries for comment, Dredline found out that they were actually being taught academics and had no opinion of such nonsense.
