Red Pepper Land, an ad agency and invention lab, is testing their “Facedeal” face recognition software, which allows consumers to check-in on Facebook while visiting participating businesses. The two companies are not affiliated with one another.
According to Gizmodo.com, “Facedeal” would recognize the user’s current physical appearance of their face by scanning their most recently tagged photos on Facebook.
“When you enter a participating business, a custom-developed Facedeals camera will scan your face and automatically check you in. Then “Facedeals” will send personalized deals and discounts, based on your Facebook “like” history, directly to your smartphone.”
Facedeal is now in its trial period and is being tweaked by Red Pepper Land and it also seeking funding.
Soon, the idea of just manually checking in on your Facebook may go by way of the Two-way device and cellphone with the antenna. Oh, the good old days!
