During the third quarter of there game with the host Green Bay Packers at historic Lambeau Field, San Francisco 49ers’ Tight End Vernon Davis found himself as the object of embarrassment following a joyous achievement.
Davis caught a 4 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Smith to give the Niners a 22-7 lead. Then, following some congratulations from teammates, he then tried to celebrate the score by dunking the football between the goal post — only to be rejected by the crossbar.
In his defense, Davis may have been a bit winded after using most of his energy to jump bump with his ‘mates before failing to attempt his own verision of the “Lambeau Leap.”
Packers’ fans, who filled the stadium in droves while geared with foam cheese helmets, interestingly found much delight in the botched attempt at showboating and making a complete fool of oneself.
The Niners would go on to win the game 30-22, marking the franchises first win at Green Bay since 1990.
